about slow SLIP...

I am currently using CSLIP to connect to a PM-20, and lately it has
become very slow.. When I do a netstat -ni the statistics show that I get
approx as much overruns as OK packets.. when FTP'ing I get maybe 1.1kb/s
over a 28.8k link. I thought it was some problem with my UART's, but I
have replaced all the hardware, including the modem, and I still have the
same problem.. Recently I also noticed that I get overruns with my 9.6k
GSM cellular card on my notebook. So, I do not think the serial hardware
is the problem anymore.. However, I tried to use SLIP instead of CSLIP,
and I didnt get any overruns.
Is there maybe a problem somewhere in the CSLIP code?
