I had troubles with my exabyte 8200 until I visited the exabyte
support web page and checked out the DIP switch settings. There was
one switch in particular which could have been labled, hang scsi bus.
Sadly, I don't remember for sure which switch it was, but I'm fairly
sure it wasn't the scsi disconnect switch.

Now, the only problems I'm having with SCSI stuff now is that when I
read a flaky file off of a cdrom, the bus with the cdrom drive and the
tape drive go into the eternal uninteruptable sleep. (OK, I've only
waited 10 hours or so...)
