well, it _does_ read kilobytes per second. it's certainly a poor
benchmark, not only since it's obviously measuring buffer-cache,
but since it actually does only 1k writes! the rest of the suite
lives up to this standard of lameness, btw.

with Linux 2.0 coming up RSN, perhaps we, both camps, should come
up with a benchmark suite that is fair enough. then we can run it,
and whoever loses will simply throw in the towel and join the winners.
