This may not apply, but the only thing that ever locked up my machine
completely was an EtherExpress card. Once I switched to a WD, my
machine has never locked up. Except of course for the time that tripped
over the wiring and pulled the monitor, mouse, modem, and keyboard all
loose at the same time. :-)
