I have one correction to the above: the version that had "FIXME" was
the one that *didn't* crash, whereas the one that was supposedly fixed
did crash.

Sorry for the duplicate posting, vger took almost a day to see my
message.

I sent a note to Andrew Walker <andy@lysaker.kvaerner.no> (whose email
address was in the source) during the wait for vger, and he replied
that yes this is something he's looking into now. Take care,
