I just compiled 1.3.89, and the same thing:

bash$ cmp /vmlinuz.1389 /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/zImage
/vmlinuz.1389 /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/zImage differ: char 19005,
line 70
bash$ cmp /vmlinuz.1389 /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/zImage
/vmlinuz.1389 /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/zImage differ: char 19005,
line 70
bash$ cmp /vmlinuz.1389 /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/zImage
/vmlinuz.1389 /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/zImage differ: char 19005,
line 70
bash$ cmp /vmlinuz.1389 /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/zImage
bash$ cmp /vmlinuz.1389 /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/zImage
bash$

Is there some dirty bit setting in the kernel? Am I missing something
obvious network related?

Johan
