When the copy reached the end of the CD it started spewing zillion messages
(they just flashed past on my Xwatch window) which would indicate a scsi
error on the cd. The system was responding for a while and then locked up
solid.
BTW, I know it happened at the end since the copy managed to get all the data
into the target (IDE) HD. There were 138MB in 5354 files.
Unfortunately the messages were not logged.
The cd light was coming on at regular intervals as if being probed every
second or two.
