Make...

I know this might be an extremely dumb question, but for the life of me I
cannot find where the source for make is, on sunsite, tsx-11, 2 slackware
cd-roms, 3 installed linux boxes...is it created with the binutils? i am
totally at a loss. All I want to do is get kernel 1.99.9 up with the
correct libc, a recompiled make and gcc2.7.2, but make is no where to be
found.
