Solid crash in sbpcd driver (1.99.11)

I just got this trying to copy a file from a cd while running 1.99.11.

Kernel panic: Matsushita CD-ROM controller #1: block not locked

Nothing else in the kernel logs. Machine was locked solid, no oops
appeared on the console. If I can provide any further information
that will help track this down, let me know.
