the isa bus can't address more than 16mb of memory, therefore if you have
more than 16mb, dma transfers can only be completed into the lower 16mb.
If a buffer is located at 17mb, the transfer will have to be double
buffered- dma'd into a portion of memory below 16mb, and copied to the
portion of memory above 16mb.
