The maximum is (as far as I know) 1GB on x86 (must specify mem=...
above 64MB), probably much more (64-bit addresses) on the Alpha.

It's not for real, it represents your RAM. It's really big -
if you want to make it smaller, remove some of your SIMMs and
send them to me :-).
