dominic} Yes, but this is the nub. No big DB company is going to port to a
dominic} platform that it does not believe will bring it any revenue. Linux is
dominic} perceived like that. No company using DBs is likely to port to
dominic} another DB uneecessarily and that's the status quo.
We paid US$7,500 for YARD licenses because we could not get Informix or Oracle
for Linux. Yes we have Suns, SGI's, AIX's, and NT's, but our customers who want
RDBMS access have Linux boxes.
dominic} By what qualification is Linux BETTER. It is cheaper certainly. It

And Linux sales are not plummeting! All this thinking is so american.
