I got your floppy.c patch, as well as kernel patch-2.0.17, which includes
it, and just tried the same floppy/ftape experiment I described yesterday --
no problem at all now!
As a matter of fact, everyything's working well for me with this kernel,
and Zoltan Hidvegi's update to cmd640.c has produced a respectable
increase in my ide speed.
