Total system hang

Hallo,

I am just recovering from o total system hang. Sorry, I have no OOPS to
offer, as there was none left in the logs.
The circumstances:
- 2.0.20, elf on a i586/100 32 MByte. I have a etnernet connection.
- a custom module loades to connect/disconnect the IDE Bus 2 (to plug in
drives to the running system)
- netscape 3.0 running. I typed "^Z" on the starting rxvt-term, but as
sometimes in the last time, the prompt didn't return immediate
- some Wine programm running

The mouse hanged suddenly, no typing was honoured. Remote login wasn't
possible. All I could do was push the reset buttom.
