2.1.5: Two freeze-ups (same) in 48hours

Over the past two days of running 2.1.5, I've experienced two freeze-ups
after coming back from not using the PC for several hours. In both cases,
X was running. I could not re-activate the screen (energy saving mode) I
can't even see what the screen says/looks like at the time of the crashes.

The PC was not pingable from a remote site either. My only option is a
hard reset and I see nothing in the logfiles. The PC is a 120mhz Penitum
with a newish CPU fan (caused problems in the past) and was working great
with 2.0.2x. It is patched with the ping-bug-64k. I'm wondering if there
might be perhaps other conditions in the IP code which may have problems
dealing with large packets?

I know the machine has been received a regular no. of 64k pings from
various idiots on IRC who have been having a field day over this bug this
past weekend.
