Changes between 2.0.0 and 2.0.23 +synflood & ping

Hmm... I was running 2.0.0 and now I'm running 2.0.23 +Alan's synflood and
ping-bomb patches... Now apache 1.1.1 starts loosing it's children and
eventually it drops off to just 1 server that can't serve any new requests.

I havn't recompiled apache to use 512 connections yet, so the apache binary
is the same. I thought there was a mention of a change in pipes somewhere
in the 2.0.x kernel tree but I don't remember it exactally... if it is,
what do I look for in the Apache source to fix it.

I'll try a fresh kernel tree to see if it still fails.
