Which apparently is the prompt for "Serial Console v0.1". After
fiddling around some, I found an option for displaying the panic,
continuing or rebooting. Panic?? What panic?? I hit the "C"ontinue and
my machine looked fine, except that according to the clock it was 11pm
last night and the machine had done NOTHING between then and now.
What exactly is this console? Why did it pop up and freeze my box? It
seems related to the serial console patch, but I've never seen it
before. And if it was there to help debug a panic, it didn't perform
well in that area ... no information was available. I didn't see a
panic anyplace (no syslog of it) and the machine was still functional,
just frozen in time.
Inquiring minds want to know ....
