Have noticed this in the few recent kernels...
I have a 486/40 with a GUS classic. When I try to run a program that uses
the sound car, I get the following error (Most noticably in doom 1.8)

[55] 16:32 ctx-apex:~# cat /dev/sound
Sound DMA (input) timed out - IRQ/DRQ config error?
cat: /dev/sound: I/O error
[56] 16:32 ctx-apex:~#

/dev/sndstat states the following...

Sound Driver:3.7-beta12-961115 (Sun Nov 24 20:56:17 GMT-0500 1996 bin,
Linux ctx-apex 2.1.12 #6 Sun Nov 24 20:32:15 GMT-0500 1996 i486)
Kernel: Linux ctx-apex 2.1.13 #8 Mon Nov 25 15:53:49 GMT-0500 1996 i486
Config options: 0

Installed drivers:
Type 4: Gravis Ultrasound
Type 25: GUS PnP

Card config:
Gravis Ultrasound at 0x220 irq 11 drq 1

Audio devices:
0: Gravis UltraSound

Synth devices:
0: Gravis UltraSound 3.4 (1024k)

Midi devices:
0: Gravis UltraSound Midi

Timers:
0: System clock

Mixers:
0: Gravis Ultrasound

Why the two installed drivers? And why does a cat /dev/midi0 report the I/O
error? The same error:

[107] 16:33 ctx-apex:/dos/ultrasnd/midi# cat /dev/dsp
Sound: DMA (input) timed out - IRQ/DRQ config error?
cat: /dev/dsp: I/O error

happens when cat'ing the /dev/dsp file...

Any help would be appreciated!
