problems with UMC U5SX processor?

I just upgraded one of my machines to a UMC U5SX, which is
a 486SX clone, running at 33MHz. (Not much of an upgrade you say?
Well, it was a from a 386-40. :-)

Problem though;

[11:12pm] hamish@silly:/proc> uptime
11:15pm up 1 day, 20 min, 3 users, load average: 0.08, 0.07, 0.07
[11:15pm] hamish@silly:/proc> cat interrupts
0: 8781321 timer
1: 3744 keyboard
2: 0 cascade
5: 662609 + serial
8: 0 + rtc
10: 133304 NE2000
13: 181742964 math error
14: 253050 + ide0

The math error count is a bit worrying, especially since this thing
doesn't have a co-pro. I'm not convinced it's actually making
a difference, but I would like to hear about it if anyone
has any suggestions as to what might cause it.

[11:18pm] hamish@silly:/proc> cat cpuinfo
processor : 0
cpu : 486
model : SX
vendor_id : UMC UMC UMC
stepping : 3
fdiv_bug : no
hlt_bug : no
fpu : no
fpu_exception : no
cpuid : yes
wp : yes
flags :
bogomips : 19.61

If necessary, I will change the CPU to an Intel DX-33.
However the UMC (despite lack of co-pro) is approximately 30% faster
than the Intel chip.

Thanks,

Hamish
