DEC's eXcursion and X

This question is WAY off topic, and I apoligize, but this mailing list is my
only available source of expert help. The prob is as follows: the school which
I attend (Lawrence Tech) uses a VAX cluster as the basis for its network. To
allow graphical programs like emosaic to be used, we have eXcursion installed.
(For those who may not know: eXcursion is a VMS based X server). I have linux
installed on my home computer, and I have a ppp connection through michnet.
What I am attempting to do is use eXcursion as the X server, and run clients
off my home pc. I can telnet to, and start up an x client with no problem. What
happens,,though, is that the xapp gets an error opening the display. If anyone
can give any advice or just wants to shmooze :) please email me directly, as
this is off topic.
