Na, quite simple: you use a RH 4.0 system and compiled the 2.1.13 kernel
once with the appletalk and ipx as modules. Then you disabled it and now the
old module files are still in that directory. Depmod sees that these are
from a different compilation and complains.

Little note: you will probably see 'module net-pf-3|4|5' not found' messages
while booting. You can fix this by adding the following to your
/etc/conf.modules:

alias net-pf-3 off
alias net-pf-4 off
alias net-pf-5 off
