Well to start with the Linux 2.0 UFS stuff isnt very finished. The
second item that might be trying to bite you is that I would expect
the catridge will also have OSF mach disk labels rather than PC partiton
or BSD disklabels on it

UFS is a set of 'standards'. For moving stuff between systems I've yet
to find anything that beats tar to the disk raw
