Correct. Unluckily, route utility from net-tools ignores netmask
specification, if you did not write -net.

You could use "iproute" (ftp.inr.ac.ru:/ip-routing/iproute.c.gz),
it is not replacement for route, but has the advamtage, that
makes all the things correctly and is able to use all the features
of 2.1.15.
