Your assuming that vmlinux is the zImage/vmlinuz, it isn't, your zImage is
in linux/arch/i386/boot/ (Ok, I'm assuming i386, and that the root dir of
your source tree is called 'linux').

Yep, it really dosn't care, as long as the directory dosn't move between
make dep, and make zImage (or whatever).
