We have a split news setup.
One server at our NOC for a collecting feed and redistribution to
our customers with an expiry of one day and a "readers" server.

The gathering server is running a plain 2.0.27 without problems!
P5-133 , buslogic 946 with 2 x 2.1 gb quantum disks:
debian linux, inn 1.5

We did have some problems with scsi errors.
Reading the sources about old firmware in the buslogic, we disabled
the tagged queuing for the second harddisk.

I dont think 2.0.27 is unstable for us !

Our other newsserver is running 2.1.7 btw ;-)
I will change that today and try the 2.0.28 pre-patch
(ftp.cistron.nl/pub/os/linux/kernel/v2.0)

Best wishes for 1997

Danny
