depmod in C++

There were some noise about the fact that depmod was written in C++. The
problem arise from you rewrite of the Makefile in the previous snapshot.
modprobe was linked with G++ which was uncessary. It use C++, but none of
the standard C++ class, to avoid needed libg++. This was done from the
start. Now in the latest snaphost from Richard, the Makefile has been
fixed and depmod and modprobe do not require any G++ libraries, as before.
