2.1.21: st module won't autoclean

Linux kernel 2.1.21. modutils-970104.
CONFIG_MODULES = CONFIG_MODVERSIONS = CONFIG_KERNELD = y

The host adapter (aha152x) driver is NOT configured as a module,
nor is "sd". "st" and "sr" ARE configured as modules.

When I use the tape drive, the "st" module autoloads the way it
should. The module never unloads unless I unload it manually though.
The "ppp" module works fine and autocleans the way it's supposed to.
