2.0.28 changes break XFree86 Mach32 server

The changes in 2.0.28 cause the XFree86 Mach32 accelerated
server to not work properly. Basically, it dies and locks up the
console. I haven't yet tested if it is telnettable, but my filesystems
have taken enough abuse for one afternoon :)

I have verified that the server will sometimes manage to start
in 8bpp mode under 2.0.28 (never in 16bpp, which I normally use), and
never with startx (only just running the server). Everything works
fine if I revert back to 2.0.27.

If there are any other tests anyone wants, let me know and I'll do them.

When you say "I wrote a program that crashed Windows", people just stare at
you blankly and say "Hey, I got those with the system, *for free*"
