/proc/swaps could display the [device:inode] pair, no problem, but from
here to creating a new file using that pair, especially that the pair IS
STILL IN USE, is a long, hard, unportable and simply dain bramaged way to
go.
P.S. You could try to undelete the file, but even that is
filesystem-specific.
P.P.S. There are hundreds of ways of crashing a machine as (stupid) root,
so this "problem" is just a minor nuisance. Especially that it doesn'c
actually crash it. :)
