An update of the PC speaker sound driver 1.0 for kernel >= 2.1.21 is
available on my ftp site :

ftp://celine.via.ecp.fr/pub/pcsndrv-1.0-2.1.21.tgz

Note that it is not an offical release, since the original author,
M. Beck, is very busy (he writes the next release of 'Linux Internals'.)
