mount -t crypto /obscure /mnt/crypto&&(sleep $CRYPTO_TIMEOUT ;umount /mnt/crypto)

The above can be done automagically by an updated mount program or a wrapper
around mount (or set an at job, if at is installed and running). Getting it
to automagically unmount after a certain period of _non-use_, however, would
require support from the driver...which one might even put into user space
(just to get it out of the kernel) if you can loop mount a named pipe...
