Tape drive recommendations

I have a second computer that has no tape drive. I would like to
purchase one for this computer. I think my choices are:

- SCSI
- IDE
- Parallel
- Floppy (pry outdated)

I don't yet have a SCSI controller, so unless SCSI tape drives are
*way* better than the others, I would like to avoid SCSI (or unless
the tape drive comes with the controller or I can buy a cheap
SCSI controller for it).

I am already using up the 4 slots for IDE drives, so that means that
I probably can't have an IDE one.

I think that floppy interface is really slow and they probably don't
make drives that use it anymore.

Finally, I do have a free parallel port, so that is an option.

I would like this drive to be pretty fast and hold quite a bit (i.e.
over 1GB before compression). I don't care about size at all. I do
care about cost of the drive and the media ;)

Thanks in advance. Please forward your replies to my email address
since I am not on the Kernel mailing list...
