/proc/*/fd/

So, I was poking around in /proc again and was reminded that /proc/*/fd/ has
some handy info in the symlinks, unless it's not a normal file. How do you
interpret it when it says:

lrwx------ 1 root root 64 Mar 10 23:05 0 -> [0000]:317
lrwx------ 1 root root 64 Mar 10 23:05 1 -> [0000]:319

? Normally that first field is a major and minor device number. It would
be swell if the first field had some pseudo-devices for TCP and UDP and other
things that FDs can be.
