PLIP problem

I think I have a problem with the PLIP driver.

This is the scenario:

The other end of the LapLink cable is plugged to my machine (a 486 running
2.0.28 kernel) and other end to a laptop (turned off). If I have the PLIP
driver insmod:ed, the 486 kernel starts producing weird kernel messages
until I unplug the cable. This doesn't occur when the PLIP driver is not
loaded.

The messages are completely random, so I think the driver is somehow
writing all over kernel memory.

Is there something else I should check? I didn't understand the driver
source, so I can't find any problems.
