My setup is similar, the difference is the VGA card, mine is a Diamond
Stealth-64 2201 (DRAM). I boot from an IDE disk, which also contains my root
filesystem. The swap is on a second IDE disk. The 2940 services an IBM
spitfire 1Gb disk and an HP DAT drive. Most of the time it runs flawlessly,
once in a while I have a serious corruption on a disk, sometimes IDE,
sometimes SCSI. Most of the time I can explain this, i.e I did something
stupid. The other times I think it has to do with the fact that I use a
hand-patched Slackware 2.3 distribution and some patches may have been missed.

In short, I think the system is stable.

One problem I did have when initialy placing the 3c905TX was that my PCI-bus
ran at 50MHz, and the card does not like that, 40 MHz is as far as it will go.
After clocking down my CPU, and eventualy replacing it with a 5x86/100 the
card worked fine.

I use the 3c59x driver from CESDIS on 2.0.29.
