The sound driver and CDROM driver aren't one and the same. Anyway, the
AWE32 PnP doesn't use a Creative/Matsushita/Panasonic interface - it's an
EIDE interface.

It should work with any computer even if it has no PnP BIOS - the program
just broadcasts to listening cards on a specigic port address. And you
can't just use the standard methodology. You hafta use some modified
tactics - the 'PCMCIA IDE support' and the module code included in one of
isapnptools' README files. You need to know how to build a kernel for that
though. And there is no 'EISA_PnP tools' either. No one has had reason to
create such a beast.
