Error in symbol table input?

Error in symbol table input

What does this message mean? I have all of my programs updated to the most
recent I can find and the kernel seems to work fine except for the one oops
I've found. Unfortunately, due to the error in the symbol table, ksymoops
dumps core so I can't really report the oops.

BTW, this is with 2.1.33 compiled non-SMP.
