Compiling the 2.1.34 went fine with your assistent. :-)
But when I try to boot with the new kernel the comp hangs
after uncompressing the kernel;
last thing it does is printing the line 'Now booting the kernel'
After that it hangs ...
I've a Dell Poweredge, dual pentium ..
