No you misunderstood me... I agree that collisions are normal, what I'm
saying is that the collisions seem to be causing problems with the
driver... so the driver has to be fixed, not that there's a failure in the
hardware.

But, just for kicks, put your machine on it's own ethernet segment on a
switch... I bet you a penny that it wouldn't have any more problems with
the driver (total Rube Goldberg solution)... I had a hard time believing it
myself...
