If you are building a known stable system you don't move to new hardware
products. One reason adaptec still sells the ISA bus AHA1542 is because
hundreds of organisations have certified that XYZ configuration of SomeOS
is rock solid with it and haven't moved on

IPv6 is in 2.2 - I don't think you need it for a stable release. The SYN
attack stuff is in 2.0.30
