Kernel 2.1.36 at boot time and /dev/hdb ?

Hello, people !

Kernel [2.1.46] refused to mount VFS on /dev/hdb2, saying there is no driver
for this device. But in initialization time it reported there are two HDs,
printed it's id strings, detected both ide0 and ide1, found my Triton.... So
why it failed to find /deb/hdb after it have found /dev/hdb ?????

P.S. I am newbie here, so please sorry for possible inconvinience.
