Re: SCSI disks--EOT!

First, I must apologize for posting to these two lists; the question had
been bothering me for the past few days, and I knew people on these lists
could give sound advice, and a few martinis had impaired my decorous
restraint.

Second, I want to thank everyone who replied. I ought to have set
stricter boundaries on my question. I am of course aware that there
exists high-end SCSI where there is no IDE, i.e., terabytes of storage,
RAID, various high-speed I/O devices. My question should have been:
"For low-end disks, where a company makes IDE and SCSI models which are
the same except for the added SCSI electronics, is there any benefit for
small systems (i.e., <= 4 disks) which, due to the low-cost of fast
processors and memory, are over-powered anyway, in terms of performance
and reliability (think: disposable lighters)?" I think the question has
been adequately answered, so no more [public] responses, please.

Flames have been graciously accepted for easing my guilt for my faux pas.

Wil
