while running pre-patch-2.1.43 on a clean 2.1.42 tree, I attempted to
remove a directory tree with:
rm -r new/
my load proceeded to increase lineraly. when my load hit three, I attempted
to ^D the rm process, no dice. when my load hit 4 I attempted to ^Z the rm
process, and when my load hit 6 I attempted to kill and killall -9 the process
from another window. when my load hit 10, I attempted to exit X, and the machine appeared to freeze. on reboot, fsck gives me pages and pages of:
deleted inode XXXXX has zero dtime
and I had to run fsck manually to fix everything.

this is with CONFIG_DCACHE_PRELOAD, CONFIG_OMIRR, and CONFIG_TRANS_NAMES disabled!

run. save your selves.

gcc 2.7.2.1
libc 5.4.33
