about: Kernel messages translation project.

--- Wanted: Someone to maintain the code and translation tables.

--- Offered: The code to "DO IT".

Wanted: Maintainer.

Maintainer will correspond with Linus to see wether he might agree to
put in a few (*) patches to allow the kernel to be multilingual. If this
turns out to be "no", the job of the maintianer will be much more
difficult: you'd have to keep the patch-set, which will touch
just about EVERY file in the kerel reasonably up-to-date for all
kernel versions.... If Linus accepts the patches, it will be easier.
You will have to recruit different "translators" in different
countries (You can only function as a translator for your mother
language....)

(*) A macro call around EVERY text string.....

Offered: the code....

I can write the code to handle the kernel message translation.
Of course:
- Kernel bloat: an option.
- speed loss: none.

Regards,

Roger Wolff.
