Possible problem with CONFIG_APM_DISPLAY_BLANK

I had been having troubles where my machine would complete lockup
on 2.1.29, 2.1.36, and 2.1.42. There were the only 3 2.1.x series
kernels that I had tried. I never saw any trace or anything in my
logs. The average length of time the machine would stay up was 3
hours, and the maximum I ever saw was 12 hours.

I had CONFIG_APM_DISPLAY_BLANK set, so this made it particularly
difficult to see if something had gone seriously wrong as the screen
was blank and wouldn't show it. I disabled that setting in 2.1.42,
and my machine hasn't experienced a lockup since. It has now been
up about 35 hours. This is about 3X longer than any previous 2.1.x
kernel.

I'm not yet convinced that this is really the problem, but if someone
knows something about this option and possible affects, please let me
know.

My machine is a P133 with Intel Atlantic MB, 1 PCI NE2000 and 1 NE2000
netcard, 2 IDE and 2 SCSI disks.
