I received tons of these messages repeatly after my first delve into the
2.1.x series since the early 2.1.[1-6] kernels. It occurred after I did a
rm -rf /usr/src/linux-xxx and then untarred another linux-tar.gz tree.
Also, while running a make config (or maybe a make clean) in the linux/
source tree, I received this several hundred times:
Jun 21 15:55:05 gomer kernel: dcache parent directory is lostdcache parent
directory is lostVFS: creating dcache directory alias
I proceeded to umount the partition and e2fsck (1.09) and it too indicated
everything was clean.
