[pre-2.1.44-2] OOPS (and Q re ksymoops)

Greetings,

I got an OOPS under said kernel after doing a "fuser /var" as
root. /var is the 4th partition of the only device of my master IDE
controller. After that, many other programs would generate OOPS'es until
I rebooted.
I would post the output of ksymoops, if it did anything other than
seg fault and core dump. As a sidenote, does anyone know why this program
is so faulty? I've never gotten it to work since 1.1.59. I compile it
with the command line shown in the source. I'm using libg++ version
27.2.1 and g++ version 2.7.2.1.
