Does any body know a simple fix for find_candidate() in the new
buffer code to avoid this behaviour?
This is specifically why I have pointed it out, and I am glad this is
what your response was. ;-) If it more useful to approach the problem
this way (saying "hey why does X do Y, and what can we do about it")
instead of sort of giving up and reverting the code to it's old
version.
