Installing packages

I need to print a postscript file on a network printer (the printer is
setup and works fine with text).

I understand that I need ghostscript.

I have downloaded the file and tried to use the pkgtool

I selected the option to install the ghostscript.tgz package and got no
error messages.

looking in var/adm/packages the file for ghostscript contains no
information under the installed files section.

and you guessed it, it dont work.

I cannot tar -xzvf [filename].tgz the file
I cannot gunzip the file

I'm stuck !!
