For those who have not read it already:

In the German Computer magazine c't 8/97 there's an article saying that
the Pentium II's Level-2 cache caches only up to 512MB. The level-1
cache is o.k. for up to 4GB. The article (in German) and some

So much for x86 machines as servers.
